Legacy Bowling!

The first Big Brothers/Big Sisters “Bowling Challenge” fundraiser was held in April 1985, at Northway Lanes. In the years that followed, “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” grew to be known as signature spring events. In the 1990’s, supporters pledging to raise $1000 each were honored as “The BIG Team,” and later “King Pins” were publicly recognized for committing to raise $500 each. In 2006, BBBSL even experimented with “Speed Bowl Dating”… no records report how well that went, but it wasn’t repeated!

In honor of this rich legacy of bowling fun, let’s go bowling again! [Download Flyer]

When: Saturday April 27, 2024; 1-3pm
Where: Northway Lanes, 1751 Evanston Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442
What: $25 per person for 2 games and shoes, plus pizza and pop
How: RSVP below, and bring your cash or check with you. [Details to come]
Who: We are not raising money for BBBSL. Profits of registration fees will benefit the Lakeshore Youth Mentoring Fund, which will make grants to support mentoring programs for youth. Several great agencies will be joining us to meet the bowlers and share their stories. Participating orgs have the opportunity to present raffles, silent auctions or prizes; each will collect their own proceeds.

Due to Northway Lanes booking another event at the same time, our participation is capped at 70 bowlers. As of April 22 we have 55 bowlers signed up, and we need to accommodate kids from Boys and Girls Club and CAAMP as well.

RSVP for bowling is now closed. If you would like to bowl, please leave your name, email and phone number below, and say how many people you would like to bring in your message. We can’t guarantee that there will be bowling available, but we’ll do our best!
